The UAW-GM Skill Center is supported with joint training funds to ensure ongoing educational opportunities are provided to UAW-represented workers, their spouses and retirees. It provides convenient access to a variety of basic education and enrichment programs.

Education Assistance Plans

TAP (Tuition Assistance Plan)-offers eligible active workers up to $4,600 in tuition per year to pursue degree programs and broaden their skills. Laid-off workers receive up to $8,400 in tuition to complete their education and enroll in skill-building and training programs for new careers. Retirees are eligible for up to $1,500 annually.

Scholarship Program for Dependent Children - provides up to $1,500 annually in tuition assistance and/or compulsory fees for each dependent or natural child or step-child of an active, retired or deceased UAW-GM worker through the calendar year in which the child reaches age 25. The student must be pursuing post-secondary education or training at an accredited institution.
