Apprenticeship Program |

|
What is the Apprenticeship Program? An apprenticeship is a relationship between
an employer and an employee during which the employee, or apprentice,
learns a highly skilled occupation. Apprenticeship training programs
are operated on a voluntary basis by a sponsor. A sponsor
can be an individual employer or an association of employers. When a
union is present, the sponsor will be a joint apprenticeship committee
made up of both employer and union representatives. The sponsor plans,
administers and pays for the apprenticeship training program for that
sponsors employees. |
